Round Grove United Church UCC

Round Grove United Church welcomes all our members, friends and guests to participate in the wide variety of Christian Education programs and activities! The Christian Education Board is responsible for all the Christian Education and Youth programs at Round Grove. The Board is made up of five elected members, the CE Staff (the Christian Education Assistant and Youth Staff person), an elected member of the Youth and the Pastor. Programs include the education of the children and youth through the Sunday School program, the Jr. Youth group and the Youth. They have also sponsored thank you breakfasts/lunches for the Sunday School teachers and helpers. In October of past years, the Youth ran the Games at the Women's Fellowship Hot Dog Hoe-Down.

Looking for something special for your kids this summer? Wondering how to keep them busy and growing, but still having fun? Try Round Grove United Church's Camp Round Grove "Mini" VBS - it delivers non-stop fun and friends for all four year olds and older! Those in 7th-12th grades will be Youth Helpers. This year the theme is "Galactic Blast!" "Cadets" will voyage into outer space praising God! The kids will see space like never before, gain a new perspective on our planet Earth, and learn some easy "green" earth tips they can practice at home. This cosmic combination of faith and fun will have the "cadets" developing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ!Registration Deadline is July 18th.

The CE Board also oversees the Church camping program in which several of our children participate each summer. Children from 1st through 12th grades have the opportunity to attend church camp at either Master's Workshop Camp in Waco (owned by the men of the North Texas Association) or Slumber Falls Church Camp (run by the South Central Conference of the United Church of Christ) in New Braunfels. Some of the adults of the church have served as Directors, Craft directors, or counselors. Some of the Young Adults and Youth of the church have also served as counselors. Slumber Falls offers a Family Camp experience in September.

During Sunday School on Palm Sunday the Christian Education Board sponsors the Annual Easter Egg Hunt for those up to 6th grade. The Youth hide the eggs and then the students hunt for their plastic, candy-filled eggs outside or in their class rooms.

In the past the CE Board has also sponsored congregational picnics in the Spring and Fall, the Birthday Party for Jesus in December, the Christmas Play with our children and youth, a spaghetti dinner camp fundraiser, Back to School Jeans program for Christian Community Action, and the Denim Day fundraiser to assist members of UCC churches affected by Hurricane Katrina.
