Text Box: ARE YOU SERVING GOD?

During the month of July, Round Grove United Church, United
Church of Christ, will be focusing on serving God. Camp Round
Grove will be held at the church from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on
Monday, July 7th, through Friday, July 11th. It will include many
activities with an important core relating to the story of “The Tale
of Three Trees”. The Three Trees served God in some very special
ways in connection with Jesus. The Camp Round Grove Campers
and Staff will present the musical of the story during Camp Round
Grove Sunday 10:30 a.m. Worship on Sunday, July 13th! I urge
you to be present for this moving musical presentation for your own
spiritual benefit and to support our Campers and Staff.
During the last three Sundays of July, I will be preaching on the
“Parables of Jesus”. The parables in the Lectionary Gospel
Readings for those Sundays focus on serving God and God’s Kingdom. The messages for the
three Sundays are:
June 13th -- A meditation, “Bear Fruit!”, based on Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23.
June 20th -- A sermon, “Do You Shine?”, based on Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43.
June 27th -- A sermon, “It’s Grrreat!”, based on Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52.
July will include special music each Sunday during Worship! The Chancel Choir members will be taking a well deserved break from their weekly rehearsals and anthems during July,
except for Wednesday, July 30th. The special music begins with patriotic music played on
both grand pianos for Freedom Sunday Worship on July 6th! You don’t want to miss the
special music in July!
July is a month when many of our members and friends will be taking trips. I pray all those trips will be safe and enjoyable. It is important to remember God and the Church are never on vacation. If you are in town, I encourage you to come Worship God and enjoy the music, fellowship, education, and refreshments. This is an exciting time and I look forward to sharing
it with you in Worship. -Pastor Wells
