Text Box: Sunday School News - - - The Lower
& Upper Elementary Sunday School classes will focus
on the Gospel of John by examining the safe place we
have with God in times of joy and trouble. Love
provides this place. Through love we find, and are
found, by God. In April the Youth class will embark on a new Bible study
entitled, “Jesus the Christ” published by Abingdon Press, beginning with
Mark 8:27-9:1. This Bible study will focus on how to study the Bible. As
the Youth work through text, context, and what’s next, they will be learning
an important skill for a lifetime of encountering God’s Word.  Sunday
School begins at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary with Opening Assembly and
continues in their classes until 10:10 a.m. If you have any questions about
Sunday School, please contact Mary Quick. The Board of Christian
Education continues to place a call for teachers, substitutes and helpers for
ages 2 through High School. If you are interested in joining the Sunday
School staff, or would like to look at the curriculum, please contact Mary Quick.

Family Sunday School: Family Sunday School is about all ages learning together, being receptive & open to learning with others, regardless of age.  Learning together is one of the most rewarding things you will do in our congregation.  It is fun & builds community.  It challenges people in intergenerational groups to explore the Bible story & decide together how they can live out the story in day-to-day life. We will be using Learning God's Stories Together curriculum.  It is for adults who want to do Bible study & activities with children; it is for children who love to do things with adults; and it is for teens who want to be part of the group, even though they might not admit it!  Family Sunday School is about people - people who want to contribute to each other's growth in faith.  It is rejuvenating & hopeful when all ages learn together. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 reminds us to recite & talk about God with our children & leave signs about God on our modern day doorposts: fridges & bulletin boards. Contact Mary Quick & let her know which Sunday you would like to lead.  She will provide you with the lesson plan, supplies and support! Family Sunday School meets from 9-10:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall beginning June 8th.
