Text Box: Sunday School News - - - In December the Youth class will begin a new three month Bible study on the Gospel of Luke while the Lower and Upper Elementary students will focus on Isaiah. There will be a birthday party for Jesus on Dec. 16th with individual parties in the Lower and Upper Elementary classes. That will also be the last regular Sunday School class before Christmas. Regular classes will resume on Jan. 6th. Staffing: The CE Board is still searching for a 3rd-6th grade teacher to work with Karol Whittaker & Trish Morehead. Attendance Challenge: Congratulations to the Upper Elementary Sunday School class for winning the November Attendance Challenge again! They will celebrate on Dec. 2nd with a “free art” day and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream! This class celebrated their October win with a trip to McDonald’s. Adult Class: Rev. Barry Johnston leads this Adult Class, focusing on the interaction between economics & the Christian Faith, each Sunday at 9:25 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Blankets and toys, part of the “Scrubs” project, are on display in the Narthex. These items will go to abused children who are treated at Denton County hospitals. Adult Bible Study Class: Pastor Wells leads this Bible class, held in the Narthex on Sundays at 9:35 a.m., as they study “Romans”. Mid-week Spiritual Refresher: Mary Quick is leading a study on “Lessons from the 23rd Psalm” which will meet each Wednesday from 6:15-7:15 p.m. until Dec. 19th. Contact Mary for more information or if you will need child care. Intergenerational Sunday School: On Sunday, Dec. 23rd, the Board of Christian Education will host an Intergenerational Learning event at 9 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Sunday School Reminders: Classes will be abbreviated on Dec. 9th and 16th so the various Children’s Choirs can rehearse. Please remember there will be NO Sunday School on Dec. 30th.
