Text Box: Sunday School News - - - In the Lower and Upper Elementary Sunday School classes we continue exploring the call to discipleship, moving back to the gospel of Matthew and a reading about the beginning of Jesus’ ministry in Capernaum and the call of the fishers to join Jesus in that ministry. For most of us, the awareness of God’s call in our lives is a gradual unfolding rather than a single dramatic event. As the call to follow in God’s way unfolds, each day brings opportunities to choose the ways in which we will respond to Jesus’ invitation. Welcome: The Lower Elementary School Sunday School class welcomes Nichole Barker! Attendance Challenge: Congratulations to the Youth Sunday School class for winning the January Attendance Challenge! Adult Bible Study Class: Pastor Wells leads this Bible class, held in the Narthex on Sundays at 9:35 a.m., as they study “Romans”. Mid-week Spiritual Refresher: Patty Tarver is currently leading this group as they study “What The Bible Is All About” by Harriet Mears. Books can be purchased from Mardels. For more information contact Mary Quick. Missions Group: Teresa Morrow is facilitating this energetic group that focuses on missions and outreach. They meet in the Fellowship Hall each Sunday at 9:25 a.m. Recently, several volunteers put together many blankets for the “Scrubs” Project. These blankets and stuffed toys will be distributed to certain North Texas hospitals to give to abused children. Contact Teresa Morrow for information on this dedicated group!
