Text Box: Youth in Action: The Youth in Action (grades 7-12) worked on their Group Quilt in September. Soon it will be displayed for all in the congregation to enjoy! The Youth will meet on Sunday, Oct. 21st, in the Youth Room. Contact Youth Minister, Rev. Barry Johnston for more information! Junior Youth: The Jr. Youth (grades 3-6) will have their first activity of the school year on Sunday, Oct. 21st. Immediately after Worship this group will go to Young Chef’s Academy (www.youngchefsacademy.com) in Carrollton until 2 p.m. Siblings are allowed to attend with the Jr. Youth age student; however, a parent must also attend with siblings. Cost is $10/person and reservations with Mary Quick must be made by Oct. 19th. Information will be mailed soon. Contact Mary Quick for more information. Family Camp Report: “Slumber Falls Camp is an outdoor ministry of the South Central Conference of the United Church of Christ.  This was the 4th year for Slumber Falls to host Family Camp.  Grady and I directed this year and had 47 people participate ranging in age from 3 to 80 years old.  Campers came from five different churches across Texas and included the Morehead family from Round Grove and a large turnout from Cosmopolitan UCC Church in Carrollton.  The theme for this year's camp was ‘On the Way!  No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here!’  We had a fabulous time of fellowship, worship, study, music and laughter.  We tried to make it as much like a summer camp experience as we could.  Take a look at the website at www.slumberfalls.org for pictures from Family Camp weekend.  We would also like to invite you to an All Church Picnic we are hosting in Carrollton (more information in this newsletter) to meet and greet our Cosmopolitan UCC friends. We plan to attend Family Camp again next year (as campers) during the 50th anniversary year of Slumber Falls, and we strongly encourage you to make plans to do the same!” Mary Quick
