THE MISSIONS AND OUTREACH PROGRAM

Scrubs Project: The Program has hired Marianne Beveridge to sew scrubs for us.  To

date, she has completed 7 sets of children’s scrubs and has material to complete 10

more.  Monday, Feb. 25^th members of the congregation met in the Fellowship Hall to make blankets for the project.  Thank you to Donna Johnson and Phyllis Murphy for all their hard work and their support to keep this project going!

Upcoming Events: After Worship on Mar. 16^th, we will be providing refreshments for the congregation along with an opportunity to fellowship while making blankets for the project.  Come and join us in service! 

March into Spring Giving Opportunities: Personal care items will be collected during

March for the Christian Community Action (CCA) food pantry. Boxes are in the Narthex

for donated items.  Items needed: Toilet paper, Kleenex, soap, facial soap, lotion, razors, toothbrushes, tooth paste, deodorant, diapers, wipes, powder, combs, brushes,

shampoos, conditioner, gels and other hair care products.

Adopt-a-Family: We have finalized all paperwork with CPS to move forward with adopting

a family for our congregation.  Once a family is adopted we will provide a list of items in

need to the congregation.  Start thinking about all items such as furniture, clothes, home furnishings and other items you would like to give away.  Our point persons for this project

are Donna Johnson, Phyllis Murphy and Dee Shuttlesworth.

Grant Project: A grant was provided to Graham Ridgard last year for his handy man business.  We have received many great reviews from members of the congregation who have hired him for different projects, and the community about his reliable hard work.

Kids Eat Free Summer Project: Kids Eat Free Summer Project will begin June 9^th and

will extend through August 22^nd.  We will be providing free lunches for low income children

in the Lewisville area two days a week along with free books and activities.   During April

and May an insert will be in the Worship Bulletin for all who want to help and/or donate

food items or lead activities.

Back to School Project: During the month of August we will be collecting School

Supplies for CCA.  Items to be collected will be announced in July.  CCA will provide tags

for the Giving Tree which will be located in the Narthex.
