SPECIAL CONFERENCE FINANCIAL E-NEWSLETTER
While I lift up the need for all of our churches to continue strong support of OCWM, it is important to keep our perspective in terms of church giving in the Conference. Most of our churches were remarkably generous in OCWM support. We actually had 35 Churches who gave more to OCWM in 2009 than in 2008. Those increases ranged from $3.00 to $4,585.00.
I applaud these 35 churches who were generous, remembered their covenantal relationship and responsibility to the Conference and national UCC, and despite a tough economic year found ways to increase what they gave to support the ministry of this Conference and the national UCC. Even in a deficit year for us, there is "good news" share and generous giving to affirm.
As always good stewardship comes from the heart and desire to build up the body of Christ. We move into 2010 with a renewed Spirit, trusting we are able receive enough offerings to fund Conference ministry in 2010.
